Rudolf Steiner and Sacramentalism

Our whole life is an act of worship. In ordinary life, we serve like priests at the altar.   Novalis

In addition to providing training for the vocation of priest, the seminary wishes to support all those who seek to deepen and renew the “priesthood of all believers.” To this end, it offers the following public courses:

On-Site Courses

  1. Open courses: These are typically one-week-long retreats designed for those seeking to step out of their everyday lives and into a world of contemplation, artistic activity, and sacramental deepening within the structured day of the seminary.
  2. A “Guest” Trimester or Year at the Seminary: The seminary welcomes applications by individuals who wish to participate in an entire trimester or year, yet do not intend to progress towards ordination. A sabbatical year or “a life transition” spent at the seminary can be a way to gather forces for the next step, inwardly or outwardly.

Off-Site Extension Courses

Through Extension Courses, the seminary brings weekend workshops, week-long courses, and retreats beyond its walls in Toronto and into host communities across North America and beyond. These opportunities to encounter the seminary include in-person events, webinars, and hybrid courses with both web-based and in-person components.
