In this time of ‘social distancing’ the theme of the “beloved community” appears all the more powerful.  It has never felt more important for a group of people to turn their attention and striving towards this deep goal of humanity.

This ideal, which longs to find expression among human beings and which touches every human heart, will be the center of our focus for the week.  Together, we will seek for the ideal of Philadelphia, work with living images in the Gospels and beyond, and explore helpful practices. Our starting point is that which was initiated by Christ among the disciples in the Upper Room, which then rays out into wider circles of life, leading us into the future.

The seminary has created a week-long ‘at-home-retreat’, a program which you can participate in from home.  Each participant will receive a special packet with special content and a way each person can shape their days to be in alignment with this guiding star of the future of human community. This will include:

– Nature walks and observation

– Journaling and artistic prompts

– Online presentations in the morning, conversation in the afternoon

– Morning and Evening shared focus of prayer and meditation.

The online timing will be live, Monday, May 11 – Friday, May 15

11:30 am – 12:15 pm EST – Morning Presentation (Online Video)

4-5 pm EST – Personal Reflection (Offline), Small Group Conversation (Online Video) and Movement (Eurythmy)

5-5:20 pm EST – Closing Reading and Contemplation of Passages from John’s Gospel (Online Audio)

Suggested donation $80 to $120 US per person for all five meetings ($110 to $170 Canadian). No amount is too little, no amount is too great! But don’t stay away for financial reasons.
